Hello,

First of all, thanks for your efforts in extensive patching of Fallout 1. Greatly appreciated.

Now here's my question.

I've got Fallout that comes with the Fallout Trilogy released by Interplay in 2009. The version reported in-game is 1.2 and the game directory contains a 1.2 patch readme. I guess I have the official 1.2 US version.

I would like to apply the 1.3.5 patch. Which patch should I install before installing 1.3.5 - 1.2 or 1.2.1? Or can I use any one of them? Which one would you recommend? At first glance, I would take 1.2.1, however it's got an RC tag which probably means it's not finished/tested enough?

If it really is 1.2 US, install 1.2 patch anyway — there are some minor bugfixes — and then install 1.3.x.

If it is non-US version — install 1.2.1 (it is still release-candidate and was uploaded for testing purposes only) and then 1.3.x.

Well, after digging some more, it seems that 1.2.1 is required to use 1.3.5:

P.S. Just in case, "latest RC" means F1 1.2.1 RC. Which is obligatory prerequisite for F1 1.3.5.

Are you sure 1.2 is ok to use with 1.3.5?

Just some conflicting information I'm trying to sort out.

Yes, I believe as one of the authors I am sure.

1.2.1 is intended for unify all the releases, to make them fully compatible with 1.3.5. US releases are compatible, so if you own one, you don't need to experiment and install 1.2.1.
