Hi there, all Fallout fans! I'm Egon Gordon Freeman. I've created this thread, because I've wanted to a) check how many of You knw English good enough, and b) create a kind of portal for all non-Russian users who don't know Russian language in general, but somehow got through the registration process [it's fairly simple, and self-explanatory, if You ask me]. I'm not so well when it comes to Russian, but I know this and that [that made the reg process a *little* easier]. I hope I'm not bragaining in, and I'd like to see some activity here 
Anyway, I have a question - how to edit those Fallout 2 fonts? I've been looking for a suitable editor for AGES and haven't found any yet. So if someone could help me out, I'd be gratefull!!

Font editor? Hm...
What about FFCon utility? This is not quite an editor, but it can convert between AAF fonts and bitmaps. Have you tried it?
Do you want to make a portal here, at teamx.ru, or somewhere else?
If you were talking about this site, then all I can say is "Cool!". May be we even can find someone to maintain our English news-page ;)

ABel, I don't think it would be extremely hard to do some little changes with our forum... And... Dodger, where are you? I believe you would like this ;).

What I meant by 'portal' is just a way to interaxct with the forum, to talk with people and do stuff, but since the forum is (was) 100% in Russian, it'd make some people's lies easier
By the way, I know FFCon, but mspaint returns bitmaps 'unrecognizeable' by FFCon. That's why I'm asking for help here 
And if You need someone to maintain Your English site, I could try. But please don't send me news&posts in Russian, since I know only a bit of that language

I'd say - would You be willing to create just another forumspage [ I believe it's written in my_SQL isn't it? ] but in English? I mean - You could make js menu to select the language and voilla! I'd even be willing to maintain the site or something... it might be even placed on my server, however it's currently in beta-testing and I'm still repairing the PC it's located on... But I could mirror Your files on my site here - all Fallout/Fallout2 stuff I can find Besides that - the big Mapper2 released by Chriss Avellone will be placed on my web page very soon Check for updates
By the way, I've been thinking about making an English version of the page - I guess I should do it. And I believe I will, maybe even today evening, so check the adress http://freeboy.dynu.net for updates at about 0:00 GMT +01:00
And, oh! I can't send You an @mail because a host on the way to Your mail server is blocked and I can't help it :DDDD
So the forums is the only way to communicate :DDDD

I gotta say that I fully support the idea of an english section for this forum, Czech team "Fallout Yurop" had already successfully implemented it and its proven to work.
We dont even have to run an advertising campaign to boost our popularity because many people been enquiring whether english Team-X forum exists and I had to disappoint them but hopefully not for much longer.
And by the way, if you need a moderator for english section of the forum(or both), I will be more than happy to provide my expertise that I obtained from Interplay forum.

Heh... I can see that this thread is developing nicely To tell the truth, I just *hate* it when someone's better than me in sth, but Your experience will surely come in handy, so I'm not pushing in front of the line
By the way - when will the script for the site be ready? XD I can't wait to see it!
Make sure the menu is in English also XD

Ok, there is a multilanguage hack for IkonBoard2. I will try to deploy it here as soon as I have FTP access to the server.
The main word was try ;) No promises.

Well, it seems that lang-hack is not necessary. The forum will be using the same language-switch on starting page of the site. Click British flag to enjoy new interface.
The translation is almost done. There are several places left to fix.
But I don't even realize what to do with forum titles and descrpitions. Any ideas?
May be we just make a separate forum for English-speaking visitors?
Kinda enclave ;) Yeah! If we make it, we'll call it The Enclave :)

"What to do with" those [titles and stuff]?
Well, one way would be to put them into a my_sql database, yet there is no way to properly translate them in/out of the English section... So I guess that a totally separate English 'Enclave' is a good idea
Still the engine must be set in place to see how it behaves - sometimes miraculous errors happen and You get exactly what You wanted or close to that

Actually, the forum is already working in two languages.
If you click here, the forum will be switched into [almost] English interface.
Please try this out.
The forum's engine is completely non-SQLed, and all configuration is stored in plain-text files. That's the main problem.
It was decided to make new general purpose forum for English-speaking people. I hope that one forum will be sufficient :)
